Quieunonascaranas

Quieunonascaranas is/was the native chief of the Hurons of modern-day Midland, Ontario. In 1623, when he agreed to the building of a cabin for the Recollets at what was to be known as Sainte-Marie-among-the-Hurons, Quieunonascaranas became convinced that the Europeans were oki, influential spirits or forces. This was because the continuous rain storm that was occuring stopped itself until just after the cabin was finished.
