Quiet Termination

Quiet termination lines are a type of test line used by the telephone company to test call routing. Many such numbers exist. Two such numbers have significance outside the normal scope as they were used primarily to test routing during an area code split, these are the Alberta Terminating Test Lines. These lines end at a fixed resistance and silence is heard.
