Queens Dock

The Queens Dock is a dock, on the River Mersey and part of the Port of Liverpool it is situated in the southern dock system, connected to Kings Dock to the north, Coburg Dock to the south. The dock was opened in 1785, designed by Jesse Hartley. The dock has two branch docks seperated by a graving dock. The graving dock is now strandled by an HM Custom and Excise building. One of the others is set aside for water sportshttp://www.foacc.com/venues/Queens_dock/Queens.html and the northerly one filled in. This and the other docks in the southern system are owned by British Waterways.
