Quad Damage

The Quad Damage is a powerup in the first-person shooter computer games Quake, Quake II and Quake III Arena. In Quake and Quake II, the powerup makes all your weapons inflict four times as much damage, enabling you to mow down enemies with ease (though with the caveat that splash damage from your weapons will be amplified as well, so use explosive weapons with care). The powerup functions in a similar manner in Quake III Arena, though it only makes your weapons inflict three times the damage instead of four. In each game, the powerup takes the form of a spinning version of the game's logo, the Quake III version also having a spinning ring around it.

The drink

A quad damage is a form of cocktail consisting of four measures of cheap Vodka combined with a bottle of the energy drink Red. The drink has become a UK South coast favourite amongst the poorer student classes due to its ability to get a individual inebriated in exceptional time yet be of marginal cost. The drink was, presumably, named after the Quake series powerup described above.
