Puck (The Real World)

David "Puck" Rainey (born July 18, 1968) appeared on The Real World: San Francisco in 1994. He became notorious for becoming only the second Real Worlder to be evicted from the house due to his increasingly obnoxious antics and was a bicycle messenger during the show's shooting. Puck has also appeared in numerous commercials and on MTV Cribs and Battle of the Sexes. It's worth noting that there is much disagreement within the San Francisco meesenger community about whether or not Puck ever actually held a job as a bicyle messenger. Indeed, many maintain that he did not. Others, such as Yini Yohans in her editorial in the September 11, 2000 edition of the San Francisco Call, concede that Puck "was a messenger for milliseconds," meaning that he was one of numerous young people to briefly work in the industry but not be adopted by the somewhat cliquish community. No one interviewed claimed that Puck was a bicycle messenger in the sense that he was deserving of ersatz icon status that his MTV fame has earned him within popular culture.
