Public High School

A Public High School is a high school that admits students from 9th through 12th grades for free from a fee in taxes. Most high schools admit students in grades 9 through 12. The pet name for a 9th grader is freshman; for a 10th grader - sophomore; 11th grade- junior; and 12th grader- senior. Pet names are more commonly used in the United States of America. The purpose of a public high school is to provide a free and open community for children, teachers, faculty, and parents to interact and help prepare adolescents for older life. Everyone involved in public high schools share a common goal and interests. Public high schools provide the best social interaction between adolescents and educators.
