Pteria
Pteria
was the capital of the
White Syrians
in northern
Cappadocia
. They were said by
Herodotus
to have been taken and ruined by
Croesus
in
547 BC
. Although some have identified Pteria with
Hattusa
, this is uncertain; Herodotus mentions Pteria as near
Sinop
on the
Black Sea
, which is not at all close to Hattusa.
