Pseudo Data

What is Pseudo data?

Pseudo data - or "false" data, may be misleading or inaccurate information given in any source, and may be the result of: 1. Misinterpretation, due to:

    • Mistranslations
    • Lossy transmission of data (especially by word of mouth)
    • Misprints, grammatical or spelling error
Pseudo data formed this way may take the form of an Urban legend. 2. Entertainment Pseudo data may be given in the form of jokes which intention is to entertain rather than to mislead. 3. Malicious intent Creators may create this kind of pseudo data in order to vent their frustrations, make known to others about personalities or religions, or to annoy readers.

Impact of Pseudo data

Although pseudo data may be seen as generally harmless or even entertaining, some individuals may feel that these bits of "data" may impede the process of data collection.
