Protoss Carrier

In the computer game Starcraft, the Protoss Carrier is the Protoss' heavy air unit. It cannot attack on its own, but it produces light, fast robotic Interceptors, which attack using twin blasters. While one Interceptor is not much of a cause for concern among those being attacked, the Carrier's full complement of eight Interceptors make the Carrier a formidable weapon. The Carrier must be built at a Protoss Stargate, but only after a Fleet Beacon has been built. Unmodified, the Carrier can only carry four Interceptors, though the increased complement is available as an upgrade at the Fleet Beacon. The Carrier also has an immensely powerful beam that can be fired from the bottom of the ship. It is used as an orbital bombardment weapon that is capable of punching through the crust of a planet. Several planets including: Chau Sara, Mar Sara, and Tarsonis were destroyed by a fleet of Protoss Carriers. (This function is not available in gameplay.) Mass Carriers = Instant win!
