ProgramvareverkstedetProgramvareverkstedet ("The Software Workshop"), usually called PVV, was founded at NTH in 1987, and is one of two student computer clubs at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. Both PVV and its younger sibling NVG are member clubs of NUCC. Membership in PVV is open to all students, alumni, and employees of NTNU. As a member, one gets a UNIX user account and access to the club's 15–20 computers operating in a thoroughly heterogenous UNIX network environment (with proprietary as well as open-source UNIX'ish systems). Extra disk space may be bought separately. There is hardware such as CD-burners, zip drives, and scanners available, as well as a library of some 70 computer science/ engineering books. For lighter entertainment the club has a bookshelf full of comics and other magazines plus some board games, and a PlayStation 2. External links References *Hpnes, Tove.
