Producer Species

In ecology, a primary producer is an organism that produces organic matter from inorganic materials and sunlight energy (or some other source of energy). The most common producers in ecosystems are green plants that use sunlight in a process called photosynthesis to create organic matter, initially simple sugars, from carbon dioxide and water. Primary producers are the base of the food chain.
