Princeton Roaring 20The men and women of the Princeton University Roaring 20, a coed a cappella singing group founded in 1983, embody the long Ivy League tradition of quality a cappella music, spirited and funny performances, and camaraderie born of many hours of rehearsing, touring, and performing together. The group, student-directed and student-managed, performs a unique and exciting repertoire of vocal music ranging from jazz and close harmony to pop songs and show tunes, nearly all of it arranged by current and former group members. In addition to performing weekly in the beautiful Gothic arches on Princeton's campus, R20 (the nickname for the Princeton Roaring 20) also tours extensively, both on local weekend trips and on longer excursions around the country and around the world. Recent tours have taken us to the Dominican Republic, Los Angeles, Oregon, Salt Lake City, Boston, Paris, Montreal, and Italy. The group has entertained audiences at formal concerts, alumni gatherings, corporate functions, and other events in venues as diverse as the Princeton Club of New York City, and the street corners of Paris, France, and Rome, Italy. Recent media appearances include singing on the Price is Right, being guests of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and being featured in a nationally broadcasted Korean documentary on the Ivy Leagues.
