Prince Of Songkhla University

The Prince of Songkhla University was the first university of Southern Thailand. It was established in 1967. As of 2003, it has 24,011 students. The university is named after Mahidol Adulyadej, Prince of Songkhla. In the first year the students studied at a temporary campus in Bangkok, 1968 the permanent campus in Pattani was established. In 1971 the campus in Hat Yai was opened, which is now its biggest campus, having more than 50% of the students. Further campuses were opened in Phuket (1977), Surat Thani (1990) and Trang (1991).
