Sucha Beskidzka county existed between

1975
, then dissolved and shared between two
voivodships

Nowy Sacz Voivodship
. Created again in
1999

Geography
The county is located in the mountainous are of the
Beskidy Mountains
. Its highest point
Babia Gora
(1725 m) is since
1954
a
national park

Biosphere Reserve
