"Popscene" is a song and single by Blur. The song is an attack on the homogeneous nature of the music industry and it represented a change in musical direction for Blur. The song has since become a fan favourite and the band still play it live. It was recorded for the band's second album, Modern Life Is Rubbish but it was dropped after an argument with the record company. Although reinstated for the US release of the album (and also the Japanese re-release), it has still never been included on a UK Blur album. The video for "Popscene" can be found, however, on the accompanying DVD of the band's compilation album, .
