Poppyseed Oil

Poppyseed oil, or Poppy oil, is nearing the same level of popularity as Linseed oil. While Poppy oil does not leave the unwanted yellow tint that Linseed oil is known for, it is much weaker in the test of time than the contemporary Linseed. Poppyseed oil dries much slower than Linseed, so Fat over Lean rules apply, Linseed falling on the Fat side. One does not want to use a Poppy for a ground layer of painting and should avoid painting Linseed over a layer of Poppy as well. It will cause cracks and peeling.
