Pope Sisinnius

Sisinnius (died February 4, 708) was Pope for about three weeks in 708. A Syrian by birth, he was consecrated around January 15, 708. He was afflicted with gout and could not even feed himself, but he is said to have had strong character and wanted to do good for the church. He gave orders to prepare lime to repair the walls of Rome, and before he died he consecrated a bishop for Corsica. Pope Sisinnius was buried in St. Peter's Basilica. Sisinnius Sisinnius
