Polo Cross

Polo Cross Is a new fast growing sport, originating from South Africa. It is a cross between traditional polo and lacrosse, i.e rather than hitting a ball with a mallet the ball is caught in a net, thus making the game safer than real polo. Another advantage of the game (to some people) is that it is less expensive than polo; as the chukkas are shorter one requires less ponies, and also ponies with less stamina, although some people would argue the latter. In a low goal match it would be possible to play throughout on the same pony. The land requirement is less, as the game is played on a smaller field. These facts combined make the game attractive to children, and those on a small budget. Polo Cross does not have the same social cachet as polo, neither does it attract the lucrative sponsorship of the traditional game.
