Political Neologism

A political neologism is a newly coined term (neologism) for political use, to craft the public view of policy or social agenda in language that appeals most to a current political culture. See also euphemism. A rhetorical device is a class of political terms, for which there exists prior art. The War on Terror, is a neologist term, which was originally advocated by GOP advisor Frank Luntz as a term to broadly cover the most number of potential military targets. The term successfully framed the political context such a way as to make the 2003 Invasion of Iraq appear related to attacks on Al Qaeda in 2001 Invasion of Afghanistan, and the possibility of future attacks (on Iran, Syria) appear likewise homologous.
