PlungingtonPlungington is a district of Preston, Lancashire, UK. Situated just outside of the town centre, an area largely occupied by students attending Prestons University. The main road running through it (Plungington Road)has an array of shops for all purposes: Bars (Plungington Tavern / Staceys Sports Bar contd...) Restaurants Dry Cleaners Launderette Convenience Stores BookMakers TakeAways Furniture Stores Hardware Stores Bakerys Grocers Cafes And others Within the people of the town "Plungington" is usually reffered to as "Plungy". The history of how the area came to be known as plungington seems vague, but apparently is due to the hill like nature of the area, which results in a large dip between the upper and lower sections of the area.
