Playing By HeartThe 1998 dramedy film Playing by Heart stars Dennis Quaid, Gillian Anderson, Ryan Phillippe, Angelina Jolie, Jay Mohr, Madeleine Stowe, Anthony Edwards, Ellen Burstyn, Sean Connery, Jon Stewart, Kellie Waymire, Patricia Clarkson, and Gena Rowlands. Nastassja Kinski and Amanda Peet also had roles in the film. Jolie won an award for "Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actress" from the National Board of Review, USA, and writer/director Willard Carroll was nominated for an award at the Berlin International Film Festival. The soundtrack includes songs by Bonnie Raitt, Neneh Cherry, and Moby. Executive producers include Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein, for Miramax Films.
