planetquest

PlanetQuest is a grid computing project for searching new planets from Earth-based observatories' images. The program itself is being developed and will work on the BOINC platform. One thing it differs from other current BOINC projects is that they promise to the discoverer from among volunteers, that he'll be able to give the planet he discovers a name of his own choosing. Project makes use of Transit Detection Algorithm (TDA), photometric (light-measuring) method. Read more about distributed projects in the BOINC article.
