PigmartyrHis first release since 1999's Genuine American Monster, Lust for Lard is the working title of Raymond Watts' next album under the Pig moniker. It has been a long time coming and, when it finally does get here, fans are probably going to be surprised. Raymond has said that the material he's been writing has been very stripped down and raw, much more rock-oriented than before. The tracks released early last year on the SickCity compilation seem to support this. Also, Sascha will be serving as producer and bassist on Lust for Lard. Lust for Lard may or may not contain reworked tracks from Genuine American Monster. Raymond said that he never had the time or money to finsh GAM the way he wanted, so a few songs from it may appear on Lust for Lard remixed. Progress on the album has been slow to say the least, but it appears that it's reaching completion. A banner on the SickCity website promises that the new Pig album is "coming soon". However, it still may be a while before it comes out, as Raymond has stated numerous times that his current focus is the new KMFDM album rather than the new Pig album. UPDATE (1/6/03): Lots have things have changed regarding this album. It's official title is now PIGMARTYR and it's no longer being released as a P.I.G. album. Instead, Raymond is releasing it under the name Watts. It's being co-produced by someone named Eden and features collaborations with Marc Heal, Arianne Schreiber and a few undisclosed guests. The sound is said to be much different than previous Pig albums. Supposedly, a record label has been found to release it and the album should tentatively be out in the late spring or early summer of 2004.
