New Zealand photographers are similar to photographers anywhere else in the world, although there may be an argument that New Zealand photographers tend to be more influenced by nature, given the wide range of beautiful landscapes found in New Zealand. For example, Rob Suisted and Craig Potten are noted for publishing many nature photos (in books, calendars etc). A notable exeception to this is best-selling baby photographer Anne Geddes who is based in Auckland. The New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography claims a membership of 250 professional photographers. Many amateur and professional New Zealand photographers are members of PhotoForum NZ, a non-profit society that publishes PhotoForum magazine and a gallery website and organises exhibitions, workshops and lectures.
