Phocodontia

Historic Hypothesis Phocodontia is a group of extinct carnivorous whales. Their teeth had compressed and serrated crowns. It includes Squalodon and allied genera. The name means "with teeth like seal's" (Phoca is a genus of seals). (This definition is from the 1913 Webster's Dictionary and may be outdated.) See also Odontoceti, Archaeoceti for modern classifications.
