Philippe De Girard

Philippe Henri de Girard (1775-1845), was born in (Lourmarin) (Vaucluse, France). He is the inventor of the (machine filer le lin). His invention contributed to the prosperity of the north-french Lille area but he moved from there to Poland where he founded a prosperous factory in the town of Zyrardw (Girardoff).
