Phil MimsPhil Mims, founder of Mimsglobal, is one of the most successful examples of multi-level marketing (MLM) activity. With a background in wholesale jewelry, Phil started his first business in 1991. By 1994 he had become one of the top earners in the history of MLM. Having earned (reportedly) over $10,000,000 in just a few years through Excel Communications, he retired after less than six years of work. He came out of retirement to enter the current local telephone service boom, and has allegedly started working on his first book, an autobiography based on his rags-to-riches-with-MLM story. There is ample evidence that Mims'latest creation, mimsglobal.net is a scam. As one person noted, "1) You have to PAY for "training materials" to get started. 2) You are an independent contractor and you have to drum up your own business...even though the e-mail talks about working as part of a "team" to promote and expand the business." By and large there are numerous credible sources relating concerns people should have about MLM activities.
