Phaser (Electric Guitar)

Phase-shift effect, also known as "phasing", is commonly used in conjuction with a distorted signal in order to produce a swirling, spiraling sound. Notable examples of use of a phaser include Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" and other Van Halen tracks such as "Ain't Talkin bout Love", and their cover of The Kinks' You Really Got Me.
