Phalloidin
Phalloidin
is a
toxin
from the
Death Cap
mushroom
that binds
actin
, inhibiting its
depolymerization
. Phalloidin binds specifically F-actin and is therefore a very convenient tool to investigate the distribution of F-actin since
fluorescent
analogs can be synthesized that retain actin binding.
