Petrus Srkilahti

Petrus Srkilahti (a.k.a. Pietari Srkilahti), sometimes written as Petrus Saerkilahti, died in 1529. He was Martin Luther's first Finnish student and one of the early pioneers of teaching science in Finnish language. He spread the idea of the reformation eagerly. In Turku, Finland, Srkilahti met Mikael Agricola, who became his student. In 1538, the first known books in Finnish were published by Agricola.
