Peter Ham

William Peter Ham (April 24, 1947 - April 23, 1975) was a Welsh singer and songwriter, best known as the leader of the ill-fated group, Badfinger. Ham was born in Swansea, and formed the group while still in his teens. In 1969, the group was "discovered" by Paul McCartney and recorded for the Apple label. After four hits, they became embroiled in financial problems, and Ham hanged himself, to be followed eight years later by the suicide of his friend and fellow band member, Tom Evans. Together, Ham and Evans wrote the classic hit, Without You. Peter Ham left behind a pregnant girlfriend and his personal estate was nearing foreclosure. His suicide note accused Badfinger's manager of stealing the band's royalties. Ham, Peter Ham, Peter Ham
