People's National Movement

The People's National Movement is the ruling party in Trinidad and Tobago. It was founded by Eric Williams and won the national elections in 1956. It subsequently held on to power until 1986 when it was defeated by the National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR) under the leadership of A.N.R. Robinson.
