Pen-y-ghent

Pen-y-ghent is a mountain in the Yorkshire Dales. It is one of the so-called Three Peaks, the other two being Ingleborough and Whernside. It lies some 3 km east of Horton in Ribblesdale. The Pennine Way links the summit to the village; the route is around 5 km in length as the Way curves to the north. There is also a more direct route, as well as other paths starting from other locations. When climbed as part of the Three Peaks Challenge it is usually the last peak to be climbed.
