Pedro Paterno
Pedro Paterno
was the author of "Pacto de Biyak-na-Bato" (first published in
1910
). His work was not appreciated until several decades after his premature death in 1940. To sustain himself, he upheld a side carrier as an offshore whaler. His experience as a seaman can be attributed to his early childhood upbringing in a small coastal village.
