Pdtv

An acronym, often seen as part of the filename of TV shows shared through P2P systems on the Internet. Most likely it stands for Pirate Digital Television, meaning that the video signal was ripped directly from a digital broadcast without involving any intermediate analog conversion of the original digital signal. Usually this is accomplished using a computer with a TV tuner card capable of receiving digitally broadcasted TV signals. In this regard, PDTV also means that the original broadcast was in any digital format except HDTV. Other possible meanings of PDTV: * Pure Digital Television
