Paul Soles

Paul Soles (born 1930) is a Canadian actor and television personality from Toronto, Ontario. He was the host of the short-lived CBC late-night comedy talk show Canada After Dark and co-hosted the public affairs show Take Thirty with Adrienne Clarkson. Soles also voiced the character of Spider-Man in the Spider-Man animated television series of the late 1960s, played "The Lawbreaker" on the CBC panel quiz show "This Is The Law" in the 1970s, and played Costas Stavros on the Canadian soap opera Riverdale. In 2001 he took over the role of Shylock in the Stratford Festival of Canada production of The Merchant of Venice after Al Waxman, who was originally scheduled to play the part, died.
