Paul Shmyr

Paul Shmyr (January 28, 1946 in - Cudworth, Saskatchewan, Canada - September 2, 2004 in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) was a WHA and NHL defenceman. He was the captain of the Edmonton Oilers during Wayne Gretzky's first professional season. In his NHL career, Shmyr scored 13 goals in 343 games for the Chicago Black Hawks, California Golden Seals, the Oilers, the Minnesota North Stars, and the Hartford Whalers.
