Paradoxical Reaction

A paradoxical reaction is the result of a medical treatment that yields the exact opposite of normally-expected results. An example of a paradoxical reaction is when a pain relief medication causes much more pain. Some sedatives prescribed for adults, actually cause hyperactivity in children.
