Panchgani

Panchagani is a small hill-station, located some distance away from the Pune-Mumbai Road. Its location amidst five small hills has given it its name. The breathtaking valleys, winding rivers, scenic mountains and scattered hamlets make Panchagani an enticing land. The panoromic table land of Panchagani attracts many tourists throughtout the year, and many Mumbaites visit it as a weekend escape. The kamalgad Fort is rarely visited, but stands out as against the simple houses. There is a Ganesh Temple at Wai, which is close by. The Panchagani caves too form an important and interesting visit. There are many elite boarding schools in Panchagani which have become landmarks. Panchagani is 98 km from Pune and can be approached by road. It is farther from Mumbai with a distance of 265 km. There is a rest-house and many tourist resorts for staying in Panchagani.
