palmas del mar beach resort

Palmas del Mar Resort is a beach resort located in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Over the last ten years, Palmas del Mar has grown to become one of the biggest resorts in Puerto Rico. It owns Puerto Rico's only Beach Club as well as a Golf and Country Club and a Tennis Club. It also offers equestrian facilities. There is also a school (Palmas Academy) and various other projects being developed. What used to be the Candelero Hotel at Palmas del Mar is currently under re-construction and looking for a grand re-opening in the Spring of 2005. There are also plans for the construction of a Mandarin Oriental hotel. Though the hotels are still not open, Palmas has retained its position as one of Puerto Rico's largest tourist facilities helping pump money into Humacao's economy and giving jobs to hundreds of people.
