PAIX, or Peering And Internet eXchange, provided by Switch and Data is the largest neutral Internet exchange point. PAIX began operations in 1996 as Palo Alto Internet Exchange in Palo Alto, California. Switch and Data provides peering and Internet exchange points in Atlanta, Dallas, New York City, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, San Jose, Seattle, and Northern Virginia.
