Massachusetts

. He was graduated from
Harvard College

1759
and was ordained a
minister
of the
Congregational Church
in
1763
. He was a pastor in
New Hampshire
. In
1788
, he served as a delegate to the
Continental Congress
. New Hampshire appointed him to the
United States Senate
, in which he served from
4 March
1789
until
3 March
1793
. He was then elected to the
United States House of Representatives
, where he served from
4 March
1793
to
3 March
1795
. He died in
1838
