Pacific is a city located in Washington. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,527.

History

Pacific was officially incorporated on August 10, 1909.

Geography

  is located at 47°15'48" North, 122°14'52" West (47.263272, -122.247831). 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.6 km² (2.6 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 5,527 people, 1,992 households, and 1,444 families residing in the city. The population density is 833.6/km² (2,158.1/mi²). There are 2,090 housing units at an average density of 315.2/km² (816.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 85.38% White, 1.43% African American, 1.61% Native American, 4.72% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 2.95% from other races, and 3.71% from two or more races. 6.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,992 households out of which 44.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.8% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% are non-families. 19.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.16. In the city the population is spread out with 31.2% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 35.2% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $45,673, and the median income for a family is $47,694. Males have a median income of $36,594 versus $28,301 for females. The per capita income for the city is $18,228. 10.8% of the population and 7.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 10.4% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
