Outback SteakhouseOutback Steakhouse is a United States restaurant chain with locations all over the world using the Australian outback as the theme. The restaurants are decorated with Australian icons such as boomerangs, pictures of kangaroos, koalas, etc. To further show their dedication to the theme, the items on the menu are named after places in Australia and accompanied by animals, things, or places found there. For example, the Ayers Rock Strip and Kookaburra Wings, to name a few. During Christmas season, some restaurants hang their Christmas trees upside down from the ceiling to emphasize their origin from "the land down under". Unsurprisingly, Outback Steakhouse serves the Australian beer brand Foster's Beer. (Although the Foster's beer available in the United States is brewed in Canada, rather than imported from Australia.) By and large, the food is not authentically Australian, being based more on American cuisine. Many of the menu items would puzzle an Australian, as they are not commonly found in that country. There are two franchises of Outback Steakhouse in greater Sydney, Australia, with a decor and menu almost identical to other branches around the world.
