Out Of This World (Television Series)

Out of this World is a children's television comedy series about a teenage girl who is half alien. It first aired in the US on 6 September 1987 (until 1991), and was first broadcast in the UK on 25th March 1991, usually on mornings during school holidays. Evie Garland lived with her mother on Earth. Her father (voiced by Burt Reynolds), though, lived in outer space and communicated with them through a crystal cube. Evie could freeze time for other earthlings (whilst time continued for her and her dad) by joining two fingers, whilst she manoeuvred herself or objects to alter the course of events on earth. An adapted version of Bing Crosby's 'Swinging From a Star' was used as the theme song.
