Oudenaarde is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Oudenaarde proper and the towns of Bevere, Edelare, Eine, Ename, Heurne, Leupegem, Mater, Melden, Mullem, Nederename, Volkegem and Welden. On January 1st, 2004 Oudenaarde had a total population of 28,070 (13,728 males and 14,342 females). The total area is 68.06 km² which gives a population density of 412.43 inhabitants per km².
