Otomo No Yakamochi

Ōtomo no Yakamochi (大伴家持 c. 718 - 785) was a Japanese stateman and Waka poet in the Nara period. He was one of compilers of Man'yōshū. Born in the prestigious Otomo family, Yamamochi served as a Kokushi (provincial governor) while creating many waka poems.
