Orel

Orel or Oryol (Орёл) is a city in Russia, administrative center of the Oryol Oblast. It is located on the Oka River, approximately 360 km south-south-west of Moscow. The word means eagle in Russian. It was founded 1566 as a fortress. Population 333,600 (as of 2002 All-Russia Population Census).
