Orchomenus (Town)

Orchomenus is an ancient city of Boeotia in Greece, which was the setting for many early Greek Myths. First mentioned in the Catalogue of Ships section of The Iliad, it was the principal city of Boeotia and first to mint coins until the rise of Thebes. It was destroyed by the Boeotian Confederacy in 364 BC, and has remained little more than a village since.
