optimus prime (person)

Optimus Prime is the name of a U.S. Army Ohio National Guard firefighter. He had his name legally changed to Optimus Prime in March of 2003, on his 30th birthday. His former name has not been disclosed. His name is taken from the character of that name in the Transformers toyline and related spin-offs. The name appears on his driver's license, military ID, and uniform. Mr. Prime's unit, the 5694th Tactical Crash Rescue Unit, is currently deployed on Operation Enduring Freedom. Prime was recalled from Baghdad in Iraq in June 2003 following a pair of family emergencies.
